Spring Forward on the Eastern Shore
With longer days and a renewed sense of energy, spring is officially here on the Eastern Shore. Azaleas are in full bloom, local festivals are kicking off, and the community is coming alive after winter. Even the hummingbirds are back—a sure sign that warmer days are here to stay. It’s a great time to refresh, refocus, and make the most of the season. (Want to know more about the return of the hummingbirds? Check out my latest blog!)
What are you up to this weekend? Looking to meet new people and enjoy great conversation over dinner? Eastern Shore NEWS
Great news—Daphne is now an official Bee City USA affiliate, thanks to the hard work of the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC)! This initiative supports vital pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds by promoting native plants and reducing pesticides.
I wanted to share some exciting news about a new venue coming to town! The Apiary, a beautiful event space, is set to open in April at the old Windmill Market building on 85 N. Bancroft Street. With 6,000 square feet of main space for events, a 2,400 sq. ft. courtyard, and a 1,600 sq. ft. terrace, it sounds like it’s going to be a perfect spot for any celebration or gathering. However, I’ve seen a few concerns pop up about parking. It’s something worth keeping in mind as we look forward to this new venue – be sure to check out the area or plan ahead for parking when you head there.
Spring is officially in the air, and so is the return of the Fairhope Farmers Market! Starting April 3rd, you can shop local every Thursday from 3-6pm behind the Fairhope Library. It’s the perfect spot to pick up fresh produce, handmade goods, and other local treasures. Whether you’re stocking up on weekly essentials or just enjoying a sunny afternoon, it’s such a wonderful way to support our community.
Eastern Shore REAL ESTATE
Coming into the spring market, the Eastern Shore of Alabama real estate market continues to reflect a steady and balanced rhythm. Over the past 30 days, we’ve seen a healthy number of homes sold (several hundred), with average days on market gradually increasing, reminding us that thoughtful pricing and preparation are more important than ever. Inventory levels are holding, giving buyers a bit more to choose from, while sellers are still benefiting from strong demand—especially in well-loved areas like Fairhope, Daphne, and Spanish Fort. With a noticeable rise in pending contracts, it’s clear that serious buyers are still very much in the market, even as some price adjustments signal a return to a more normalized pace. Overall, the Eastern Shore remains a highly desirable place to call home, where the right strategy, timing, and presentation can make all the difference in today’s evolving landscape.
Alabama is leading the way on overturning the new national law; Alabama real estate buyers are no longer required to sign a contract before seeing a home!
