🚲 Spring Breezes + Trail Rides + Good Vibes
April’s here, and the weather couldn’t be better for a bike ride on the trail (yep—that’s me in the photo!). The azaleas are still showing off, the breeze feels amazing, and everyone seems to be soaking up the season.
This week is packed with good stuff —live music, farmers markets, a historic reenactment, and some fun family events too. If you’re looking to get out and enjoy the sunshine, there’s plenty to choose from below.
Hope to see you around town—and if you do, wave me down and say hi!

Fairhope Earth Day Celebration Temporarily Moves to Mobile Due to ongoing construction at South Beach Park, the annual Mobile Bay Earth Day Celebration is relocating across the bay this year. Organizer Gary Gover announced the event will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Chicasabogue Park in Mobile. Hosted by the “Love Your Community” initiative, the event will include vendors, food trucks, lawn games, an EV car show, and live music by The Live Cahoots. Gover said he hopes the celebration will return to Fairhope in 2026.
New Effort to Restore Butterfly Garden at Magnolia Beach After last year’s attempt to clear kudzu from the butterfly garden at Magnolia Beach fell short, Fairhope’s new horticulturist Will Mastin is giving it another shot. The city will again tackle invasive plants like kudzu with support from the Point Clear Rotary Club, which donated the garden sign and has volunteered to help maintain the space. The garden is meant to support monarch butterflies and other native pollinators—but like similar efforts around town, it’s struggled to thrive without consistent care.
Environmental Study Approved for Fairhope Industrial Park Site Fairhope City Council has hired Volkert Engineering to conduct an environmental assessment on 75 acres west of the airport, a step required for a potential $3 million HUD grant. The land—currently owned by the Airport Authority—includes wetlands and may contain cultural resources, which will be reviewed by All Phases Archaeology. If approved and transferred to the city, the site could support a future light industrial park and help reduce airport debt.
New Parking Lot and EV Chargers Open at Coastal Alabama Campus The new 28-space employee parking lot at Coastal Alabama’s downtown Fairhope campus is now open—and it includes six EV chargers with RV hook-up capability. The lot is accessible from Bancroft Avenue and is open to the public on weekends and when classes aren’t in session, according to Mayor Sullivan.
Greeno Road Federal Office May Be on the Chopping Block Several media outlets are reporting that the U.S. Fish & Wildlife’s Deepwater Horizon field office on Greeno Road in Fairhope could be among those targeted for closure under a new federal efficiency plan. The office, opened around 2017, is part of ongoing Gulf Coast environmental restoration efforts. No formal closure notice has been posted locally, but the space is still staffed and in use.
Silverhill Expands Water Capacity with New Well and Storage Tower To keep up with fast-paced growth, the Town of Silverhill is drilling a fourth municipal well on County Road 49, just south of Highway 104. The site was purchased about two years ago and will also house a new water storage tank. The project is funded by a $2.4 million federal ARPA grant awarded last year. Silverhill is currently the fastest-growing municipality in Alabama and is on track to reach official city status after the 2030 census.
New Fire Station Coming to Daphne East The City of Daphne broke ground on Fire Station #4 near Hwy 181 and Milton Jones Road. It’s expected to improve response times to neighborhoods east of 181 and will include space for community training.
New Store Alert: Palmetto + Pine Now Open in Daphne A new boutique gift and home store, Palmetto + Pine, has opened in the Jubilee Square Shopping Center. The shop features locally made goods and coastal-style décor.
Mo’Bay Beignets Spotted Near Bass Pro? Word is Mo’Bay is eyeing a location in Spanish Fort, possibly near Bass Pro. There’s no official signage yet, but if it’s true, it would be their first Baldwin County café. Know anything?
Pizza + Arcade Combo Coming to Silverhill? Locals are buzzing about a potential family-style pizza and game spot rumored to be planning a build-out near Silverhill’s town center. Nothing confirmed yet, but it’s an idea that’s getting a lot of attention.
